SAWA-Australia (NSW), the Support Association for the Women of Afghanistan in New South Wales, was established in 2010 when the national association SAWA-Australia was reorganized into state associations. It continues the tradition of the national association of being operated entirely by volunteers.

RAWA
Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA)
Established in Kabul in 1977, RAWA is an independent service and political organization of Afghan women fighting for human rights and for social justice in Afghanistan. Not advocating violence, RAWA campaigns for women's rights and provides education and health facilities and programmes. Many of its operations are based in refugee areas in Pakistan.
